Sub Track:
Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Clinical Outcomes, Patient Experience,  Efficiency and Process Improvement, Data Management and Analytics , Staff Training and Development, Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation, Technology Integration, Patient and Family Engagement

  1. Identify Improvement Areas

    Key Components of Quality Improvement:

    • Data Collection: Gather and analyze data on current practices, patient outcomes, and areas where performance does not meet desired standards.
    • Needs Assessment: Identify gaps in care, inefficiencies, or safety issues that need to be addressed.
    • Stakeholder Input: Engage healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders to identify problems and potential solutions.
  2. Set Goals and Objectives

    • SMART Goals: Develop specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that align with the overall mission of the healthcare organization.
    • Prioritization: Prioritize which areas to address first based on factors like patient safety, cost, and potential impact on outcomes.
  3. Develop and Implement Improvement Plans

    • Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycle:
      • Plan: Develop a plan for change, including specific actions to be taken, resources needed, and timelines.
      • Do: Implement the changes on a small scale to test their effectiveness.
      • Study: Analyze the results of the change, comparing them to the expected outcomes.
      • Act: Based on the results, decide whether to adopt, modify, or abandon the change.
    • Best Practices: Implement evidence-based practices and guidelines to standardize care.
    • Training and Education: Provide staff with the necessary training to carry out new procedures and protocols effectively.
